Due to the adverse weather conditions caused by Storm Kristin, which affected the country from the early hours of January 28, 2026, a significant number of fiber access connections within the FastFiber network were impacted across multiple regions, with particular incidence in the Central region, both coastal and inland.
The FastFiber Operations and Maintenance structure was promptly activated to coordinate the restoration of the affected services. The extensive damage to access infrastructures and to the electrical power supply network is constraining recovery efforts, impacting the speed of the full service restoration.
